Brooklyn, New York
My self summary
I'm an illustrator/designer living in Brooklyn, NY. I moved to New York in 2005 to shake my little town blues. While working as the Designer for the Society of Illustrators, I earned a BFA in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Over the years, I have developed an affinity for poster design and hand lettering. My work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, SILA, Creative Quarterly: The Journal for Art & Design and others.
What I'm doing with my life
Currently, I work as Staff Illustrator for Gawker + Jezebel. In between that and freelance gigs I make sure to find time for personal projects. Recently, I had a solo exhibition at Rivington Design House in SOHO. I am also very involved in the Society of Illustrators.
I'm really good at
solving problems, drawing beautiful women, hand lettering, poster design-ustration and quoting 90's rap songs in casual conversation.
The first thing people usually notice about my work
is that it has strong line work and a retro vibe with a modern twist.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Reads: Just Kids by Patty Smith | Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion
Flicks: Cry Baby
Stories: The Walking Dead | Game of Thrones | Beverly Hills 90210
Tunes: Shake. Rattle. Roll.
Noms: A t-bone steak, cheese, eggs and Welch's grape
On a typical Friday night I am
in the studio, blasting whatever the kids are listening to these days.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit
I wear every single chain, even when I'm in the house.
