Hi! My name is Tara.
I'm a farm-bred, South Jersey native who moved to NYC in 2005 to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology for Illustration. A year later, I interned at the Society of Illustrators. In 2007, I began working full time for the Society and eventually became their in-house graphic designer while finishing up my BFA and freelancing.
In February 2014, I had a solo art exhibition at Rivington Design House in SoHo, NYC. The show features a mix of illustration and hand drawn typography and communicates the visceral nature of love and dating. It's fun and lighthearted, with a dash of cynicism and a touch of the macabre. You can view the work HERE.
I began working for Gawker Media in June 2014, where I've done a VERY broad range of editorial work, including investigative reports of current events, personal essays, educational articles for women and important how-to's... and yes, I'm the girl who drew your favorite Disney princes in the buff (NSFW).
I am available for other projects, as I continue to freelance from my Brooklyn studio. Please email me with any inquiries at firstname.lastname@example.org.
