Freelance Illustrator residing in Brooklyn, NY. Formerly Deputy Art Director and Illustrator at Gawker Media.
Tara moved to NYC in 2005 to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology for Illustration. In 2006 she landed an internship at the Society of Illustrators which led to a full-time position by the end of the year. After seven years and many hats, Tara left her then Graphic Designer post at the Society, for a staff illustration position at Gawker Media where she created a broad range of editorial work, including investigative reports of current events, personal essays, educational articles for women and important how-to's... and yes, she’s the girl who drew your favorite Disney princes in the buff (NSFW). Tara was swiftly promoted to Deputy Art Director. She then went on to become Deputy Art Director at Vocativ. From there she made the leap into her dream job, becoming a full-time freelance illustrator.
Tara has had two solo exhibitions. One in February 2014, at Rivington Design House in SoHo, NYC. The other, in May 2018, at Ponder70 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Tara is currently available for new projects. Please email her with any inquiries at firstname.lastname@example.org.
